He basically did the same thing I did only he had the wheels changed during PDI. I couldn't swap the HRE's until I gave the dealer the original wheels from my 550 so the 343's were on my car for a day or so longer. Mileage worked out roughly the same in both circumstances.
Btw it's really annoying when your father buys the same car. He had an Alpina B7 before the M5.
