I am talking about the blue painted caliper metal housing. The shop owner grinds off enough for the wheel to clear and then he painted the affected area with blue paint (close enough color to match). In all, the brake was not touched.

Wow. I would have used a 10mm spacer in the rear. Helps clear the brakes and makes the rear wheel appear like proper offset and not pushed in.

Not sure about grinding calipers. Sounds risky. And the rear will sti look funny.
