Now that the Official F10 M5 Production
stats and specs have been revealed, the natural question is how it compares to its most direct competitors. We undertake this comparison below, with a photo and specs shootout against two of the M5's biggest rivals -- the 2012
Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the 2011
Cadillac CTS-V Sedan.
As some might not know yet, Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the use of their new 5.5L twin turbo V8 for the E63 beginning this Fall. We've used this new engine's specs to provide the most up-to-date comparison possible.
On paper, the super sedans are pretty evenly matched. The differences will come in the driving experience and real world test results. As BMW traditionally underrates their power figures, we expect the F10 M5's real world performance figures to best the official ones.
