I think it's very fake because the engine sound is being generated by a DSP, not by a tube running from the engine to the cabin as in previous models. I would have been much happier if sound "management" had been accomplished by using more pipes to the cabin to get a higher maximum volume and then closing some of them off when a quieter ride was desired.

I guess the sound of the exhaust from the previous NA V10 just couldn't be matched by a V8 with turbos blocking the flow. Still, given that the engine is made louder in sportier modes, I wonder what happens when you drop your passengers off and then take off -- is the sound they'd hear from outside a lot quieter? Or what happens when you roll the windows down?
