I know a lot of guys on here including me have complained about oil consumption.
Now there are guys that have responded in saying their cars are not using oil which is great but it doesn't help members like me who are spending £18 per litre every 900 miles.

I've had the car checked and everything is reported as being fine so where now??

I have taken it upon myself to contact a race specialist who deals exclusively with super cars and race set ups.

He maintains some amazing vehicles amongst them are 12 F10 M5's

Interestingly he has dealt with oil consumption issues whilst maintaining these vehicles.

His advice to me which he swears by is that I should conduct an oil change. Replace the 5w/30 oil used by bmw with 0w/40 Mobil 1 high performance oil.

The reason for conducting the oil change us it ensure that there is no cross contamination.

It would be great to have your comments in order that I may make an informed decision
