I am looking at a used M6 GC with CCBs. This car has 38,000 miles on it.

The rotor wear indicators checks out just fine. Full circles, looks just like the manual and I'm comfortable taking ownership of the rotors.

However, I checked the CBS and the front pads says needs changing in 22,000 miles and rears says 13,000. Which is way lower than expected.

Sure, I can change the pads for $2k or so, but I'm concerned that this car's rotor wear is also on an accelerated schedule as well. I ran vehicle history at a BMW dealership and shows no brake service performed other than fluids.

Any advice or thoughts?

First is that if you are going to track, I would not recommend a CCB, just a steel brake.

As a point, race teams do not use CCB as it is expensive to replace and steel brakes are more than enough. Its only benefit is unsprung mass.

Theres not much experience BMW has on CCB so we dont know how good or bad they are really, but I bought my car with CCB because I plan to use it as a DD and most likely it would last the life time of the car.

That car you are planning to buy, was driven hard. Those rotors would last a very long time if you drive it regularly, even hard on the street. But if you track it, 3-5 sessions, you will wear them in a year.

That is why we do not use CCB in the track.

Are you sure you are willing to take ownership of a car with an accelerated CCB wear? if yes go for it.

I have 6500 miles on mine and it says 80000 miles brake service.
