In fact it works better here than in the mirror, because the mirror darkens the display because a mirror is essentially a heavily tinted glass.
In my Lexus, I have a mirror placement and I can't read it in bright sunlight. This placement is very easy to read in any context. The other issue I had with the mirror placement is that I didn't like looking in the mirror when the radar picked up a threat. I would rather look forward. It's all about eyes on the road.
The display shows type of radar band being picked up, and either number and strength of radar signals, or frequency of radar signal. I set it up to pick up multiple threats with signal strength of each threat.
