That pdf recommends a somewhat different rating than the M5 manual. The manual that comes with the 2013 M5 (page 177) recommends engine oil viscosity grades SAE 0W-30 or SAE 0W-40 and alternatively SAE 5W-30 or SAE 5W-40. Whereas on that pdf, recommendation is as follows:

So, what correct viscosity should be followed? I would go with what the manual says as that pdf may be obsolete.
