The best way to warm up a car is drive slowly and keep the rpm low for the first 10-15 min. Stationary warm up doesn't do anything for the gearbox and etc., plus without stepping on the gas pedal and putting on some pressure, the corrosive residual water in the exhaust pipes doesn't get pushed out.
