My gut says there is no chance for a V10 in any new non-exotic car.
I would bet on either an M version of a new iteration of the corporate V8 (98mm bore center) or possibly a new compact V8 sharing a common architecture with the new B* inline family (91mm bore center). The latter would remove the weight disadvantage BMW currently faces in comparison to the compact Audi and (new) Mercedes M177/M178 4.0L V8 engines.
