Man blesses his new BMW by burning incense, car catches fire, gets burnt to a crisp

After buying a new BMW a man in the Jiangsu city of Yangzhou burned incense to bless his new ride, however, it appears that the gods were not pleased with his selection of vehicle.

Video has viral on Chinese social media showing the BMW going up in smoke inside a residential neighborhood. In a mere 20 minutes, the man's 470,000 yuan ($73,000) car had been reduced to nothing more than a smoldering pile of iron.

Footage from before the fire shows how offerings were placed around the vehicle and a piece of red cloth draped across its hood. The Yangzhou fire department suspects that is where the blaze began, with the man burning incense on the cloth. Reportedly, the car was so new that it did not even have a license plate yet.
