Front kidney grilles removal without popping the hood?
I was just thinking about this while watch my car being washed earlier today. Now, with using trim removal tools, Is it possible to remove those front kidney grilles without opening up the hood? Just wondering has anyone ever attempted to do so.

Pull as hard as you can, I spent hours trying to get it unhooked following "directions" (the pop the hood method) and that did nothing but scratch up my hand pretty bad.
Wait for a hot day, let it heat up, then pull as hard as you can - works beautifully. Last edited by Protious; 06-03-2013 at 11:54 PM.. |

Pull straight out. No tools required!

^ this EXCEPT if you have Night Vision. Facing the car, the left kidney can be removed as described above. But to remove the right kidney, you'll need to remove a bolt holding the nivi housing in place. There's a small circular hole above the kidney under the hood. You'll also need to remove the washer fluid hose that connects to the small sprayer below the nivi camera that keeps the lens clean. Stick a golf tee or small nail into the hose to keep the reservoir from draining.
