I had great success with the Swissvax leather products
Their leather cleaner and conditioner are great products and also come in little bottle to cary along in your on the road detail kit. http://www.swissvax.us/usa/leather-care.html and for the dashboard/ M leather to restore/retain the matt finish I have used http://www.swissvax.us/merchant.mvc?...e=LEATHER-CARE I am also a great fan of the Zaino leather cleaner/conditioner as it restore the new leather smell Just have to be careful wiping it off as otherwise it will gloss for a little while http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...oduct_Count=15

I use leather masters foam leather cleaner, and leather masters leather conditioner matte.
I find the matte leather conditioner is great because it keeps the interior looking brand new from the factory.

Is the PermaPlate interior protection product recommended for this leather? Has anyone gotten this? Supposedly makes spills and stains come out easier. As I have preschool and grade school age kids, I want to protect the leather.
Or is it better to just apply leather cleaners/conditioners as mentioned above? |

I use Leather Masters leather barrier, and while not permanent, it does have the same effect in preventing dye transfer and helping to make them come out easier. I use this once every three months, and then use the Leather Masters Protection Cream Matte more frequently.

Based on a friend's suggestion, I started using Zaino's "Leather in a Bottle" leather conditioner along with their "Leather soft" leather cleaner in case of some cleanup work. I don't know much about leather so hope you guys may have some info on these 2 products -- they seem to be doing a good job, I just don't want to be using products that may actually harm the leather as I intend to prolong the merino leather quality of my M5 interior.

I have used Zaino in a bottle for a long time on many cars and it's one of the best products to use.
The only caution I'd have for the M5 is to not use too much and apply it very lightly with a soft MF towel as the leather (Merino) is not coated and will absorb "fluids" easily. Using too much might make the leather glossy. For cleaning the leather I use Swissvax Leather cleaner which has worked great for me for many years. It's easy to apply and doesn't leave any streaking / gloss behind http://www.swissvax.us/merchant.mvc?...e=LEATHER-CARE I also use Swissvax Leather Matt for the dashboard and upper door portions. http://www.swissvax.us/merchant.mvc?...e=LEATHER-CARE

Agree with JMH Zaino can make the leather glossy which is why I stopped using it even though I love the smell.
The advantage of leather masters leather protection cream matte is that it is a matte leather conditioner so it is easy to maintain the factory finish with this. Swissvax gloss corrector matte is not necessary if you don't gloss up the leather. I have some but I don't use it since it removes oils from leather and shouldn't be used too often.

There are several similar products, so which one should I use? Leather Master Vital Conditioner SKU LMVIT, Leather World Hydrating Cream SKU LWHC, Leather Master Protection Cream SKU LMPC Which ones do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance. BTW, would it be safe to apply these new conditioners on leather where the Zaino conditioner has already been applied?

Regarding product, I buy from Uniters NA who carry the full range. http://shop.unitersna.com/collections/leather-master The type of leather we have is A (Aniline) My products are - Leather Master Foam Cleaner - use whenever cleaning - Leather Master Leather Barrier - prevents dye transfer from jeans. Use to treat leather when new and retreat every 3 months when doing a full cleaning - Leather Master Protection Cream Matte - use for leather conditioning once a month I don't bother with Leather Vital because that is for leather that hasn't been conditioned in a long time and needs restoration of natural oils. Our leather is new and doesn't need that.

stealth.pilot, thanks for the info. I will be ordering the Leather Master Foam Cleaner and Protection Cream (for Matte surfaces). I have full merino black leather, so am in a quandary whether or not to order the Leather Barrier.

Glycerine is a good leather cleaner. Lexol is a brand name Glycerine leather pH balanced cleaner -- inexpensive and does a good job of cleaning all types of leather. You can use it to first clean the leather of any grime, oil, perspiration, etc. residue before applying the Leather Master Protection Cream.

I wonder if CQuarts will actually coat the leather and hence make it look glossy and loose some of it's smooth/soft feel ?
From the videos it looks like to build a coat to repel water etc . In some of the reviews it also mention to slightly "darken" the leather so folks with very light interiors (Platinum/Silverstone etc) may want to be careful and give it a try on a hidden portion first. But it might be an option for some

Surf City Garage leather treatment. I have tried quite a few and this one seems to do all that I want.

Which is a better product (Leather Master Leather Barrier or Wolf Chemical's Hiderophobe) to prevent dye transfer from dark jeans to a light leather? Can I use both (eg. Hiderophobe first and then add an additional coat of Leather Barrier or vice versa)?
