09/30 10/1 or 10/2 ED Delivery

My original ED pickup schedule was Sept. 3, 2012 and was planning on being in Munich beginning of September but had to opt for a later date due to work demands. Anyway, if there are those who will be doing their ED delivery around the dates mentioned above and are of the same idea of having dinner and sharing their itinerary plans, please post here or email me. We could plan some dinner or more, something similar to those "lucky guys" in this forum who are getting hold of thier M5s a month earlier.

I had requested a 10/1, 10/2 for some time now, recieved a 10/4 date however it is a verbal from my CA. Waiting for the confirmation via BMW. If it happens to come together, I'd be up for gathering somewhere!

10/3 is "Tag der Deutschen Einheit" or German Unity Day and therefore a holiday and no European Delivery for that day. I don't know why they did not schedule your pickup for 10/1 or 10/2 unless all slots for those days are out. If you already have or know your production number you can inquire directly from the BMWNA Special Sales Department - European Delivery at 1-800-932-0831.

I plan on starting my trip out of Munich with 2 friends as passengers on the 3rd of October. We plan to be in Munich on the 1st to take in the sights in the surrounding areas and partake of the festivities -- Oktoberfest is such a big event in Bavarian Munich, its birthplace.

When are you planning on getting into Munich?

Thanks for the BMW number. I am still awaiting my email confirmation from BMW NA so I don't have production numbers yet. Once I get that I will take advantage of the info you provided and firm my travel plans after that. It does seem strange that I couldn't get a 10/1. Maybe I will have a shot still!

I have been informed by my dealer regarding pickup at the Welt which is Oct. 2 which was my second choice. This would be an ideal time to pickup the car and get to experience Oktoberfest.

I am negotiating my order right now but my target is Oct. 4th as well. I am up for the dinner idea and will definitely update once I have my production number!

Depending on when most will be in Munich, tentative dates would be 10/2 or 10/3. If it turns out that most will be picking up their cars on 10/4 then being in Munich a day/days before would be the norm. Also bear in mind that 10/3 is a German holiday.
