Calling them now. Got stuck on the downpipe install. I realized it's a huge pain without the lift.

I'll give him a call. I dont know if any of you tried to install the dp's, but how in the world do you fit your hand in the bottom to install the new gaskets?
I think I might have to invest in a lift in my garage.

That is pretty cool. If I did a bit more wrenching, I'd invest in something like that.

Its a bit of a pain.. Take your time, loosen up the mid section of your exhaust if aftermarket. Loosen or remove aluminum skid plate. I used a dab of exhaust putty (you could use grease, anti-seize, RTV) on the top sides of the gaskets so once i got them on the DP they stayed without having to hold them.

Definitely not the easiest install but doable from jack stands.

PM if you have other problems...Make sure to get new donut gaskets if the DP's didn't come with them.

Aloha

Man, I used to do stuff like that when I used to own my E36 M3. Now, no time, I work a lot.

I kind of enjoy it. You get a sense of accomplishment when everything is completed and no extra bolts left over. Moreover, I believe that working on your car helps you understand how it's built and how things work.
I don't have much time either, that is why the car still apart.

I always get a laugh when there is an extra bolt left around. It's like, really, did I miss something here.

I do agree, about the sense of accomplishment, plus it never ceases to amaze how these cars were engineered, and put together. The brain that goes behind every detail.

Good thing, now a days, I have my MkV jetta to drive in case if I would to work on my E90.

This time I took pics of all the bolts and brackets. It would be one catastrophic event if I did forget something.

Spare cars always do the trick. Less pressure on finishing the job.
