Origional Injectors - Highest Mileage

Who has a lot of mileage on their original injectors out there?

Curious if I should replace might at a given time or wait for symptoms to appear.

Consider replacing around 66k miles at 33k now, a stuck open injector can spell the end of an engine.

Are they covered under the Warranty? Just out of curiosity - what do they cost? (apart from an engine - worst case....).

Mine were covered under warranty.

As far as I know each injector costs something like 280$

Are 2014/2015 injectors less problematic than those found in 2012/2013?

I called bmw on this and they said that the LCI m5s injectors are not covered under that warranty. I think they are the same parts though so I can't imagine what they did to fix the known problem.

I know for certain that 2014+ have different part numbers and are a newer revision which is part of the reason why 2013 are less desirable - but I'm curious if the failures on 2014+ are actually lower

Yes, the LCI models received upgraded HPFP and Injectors. they basically can stand a stage 2 tune easily.

Not a recall, just an extension of the warranty. They wont do anything unless a problem arises with the injectors. I have seen a post on Facebook where the poster claimed the failed injector blew his motor and BMW wouldn't cover anything. He didn't go into further detail but turns out he was also tuned so that may have played a role in BMW denying the warranty work.

US injectors are probably different to UK spec, here they have to run on 98 RON minimum,I use 99RON and can confirm UK cars have in line replaceable fuel filter under the car which is not there on US cars. Some have said it's in the fuel tank.

You may be better off replacing the fuel filter first if it's never been done but I am not completely sure where that is on US cars.

92k miles. Original injectors.. no sign of issues but I am due for plugs. What are the symptoms of bad injectors on these cars?

From what I've read it happens in a moment, rough running.Best to stop and switch off quickly wait a few minutes and try starting again.

59k miles on my presumably original 2013 injectors. I'd like to get mine replaced under the extended warranty but as mentioned above, they won't do anything unless you have a code/problem. Even then, I'm not sure they would replace all of them under warranty. Probably just the one that the code is for.

I'm just getting back into a BMW having owned two previous, (E39 M5 and E90 335d,) but having owned a couple Z06 Corvettes in between, I came across and really thought the Red Line SI-1 Complete Fuel System cleaner did a good job helping to keep the fuel injectors nice and clean. I buy it by the case off Amazon and split it with my Dad.

A full bottle treats 20g but I usually only do about 1/3 to 1/2 a bottle every third fill up as preventative maintenance and peace of mind. I just took delivery of my new-to-me 2015 M5 this last weekend so I dumped in an entire bottle when I filled up the tank with Costco 93 as the vehicle had been sitting outside at a dealer in MN since February. I know BMW says you don't need to add anything, and I would not add 95% of the stuff on the shelf out there, but I've read some really good reviews on this in the Corvette community and I know it's doing nothing but good in my motor.
