Exhaust systems cut weight too! Very important!!

Its not all about the performance. If it was I would have kept my E60 M5 and my 911TT. The F10 dosent inspire me.....at all.

I am not disagreeing with you on that at all. I am just saying that when the F10's performance figures like 0-60 and 1/4 mile were tested, those impressed by the new M5 quickly forgot the glorious S85. Then they hear the S63 unit and all of a sudden miss the S85 again.

Sure it doesn't sound as good as the E60 M5, but regardless it still sounds good.

I was thinking the same. The sound of the new M5 is just not exciting and spine-tingling like the old S85 or the current S65M3.

BMW have even resorted to using the speakers to artificially enhance the induction noise experience inside the car!

I have a m3 e92 with full akra and tune and i drove last monday the new m5. I think there are alot of people, who just write what they have read somewhere....
Not to say you cant have your own opinion.
But to me the oem exhaust on the m5 sounded nice, alot better then the standard oem exhaust on my m3.
I also was sceptic about the digital exhaust sound but trust me you dont notice it and it sounds great.

Picked up my 750 at the Welt in March. My buddy and me got a ride in this exact same M5. We asked on a whim and our attendat said ok. Wait a minute and summoned over a guy that came with the keys and took us around 3x the european delivery part of the welt. THe akrapovic exhaust was intoxicating. M5 will be the next euro delivery i do.
Black 750 is in the background of the pic
