Something has changed - Comfort Access no longer standard alone option
Got a call from my dealer. he just received a notification BMWNA. Comfort access is not a standard alone option, you can not order it alone, if you want to have comfort access, you have to order the executive package.

Because they realized we all want comfort access but not the whole executive package!

Yeah this isn't surprising at all, knowing that they want you to spend an extra 5k for a bunch of options not a lot of people care for. Whatever ill save my self 5k, i can live without comfort access.

While its not a surprise to most, I have no use for over half the options in that package. However, having comfort access on my M3 is a big, big plus.

I never would have thought that comfort access was a stand alone option. When I saw the info in the M5 ordering guide, I thought it meant that it was an item in the ZEC package. I did not think anything of the NC data above the ZEC.

Not for nothing, why should I have to buy a $5500 package to get something that's standard on a car like a Aultama or hyundai elantra at this point.... We're talking about a $100,000+ car here....

Yeah this is bmw screwing everyone over on a feature that everyone wants. Why not throw in A/C into a different 5k package just to get people to check that box off too. If this is true I'm keeping my old 07 E63 and look at other newer sedans (maybe 550 with dinan tune). I don't want anything in the package except for CA and it should be standard for any car over 50k.

DAMNIT! I actually want to avoid the Executive Package not just for cost but because I don't want things like the soft-close doors and power tailgate, both of which are apparently hideously expensive to repair/replace. Ventilated seats would've been nice but I've heard they're just weak fans, not actually cooled seats, so I'll pass on the perforated leather to make cleaning easier. Thankfully HUD is available separately but I really do like Comfort Access.
![]() Oh well, at least you don't need to put the key in a slot to start even without CA, though, that's the main thing I like. I guess pressing a button to lock/unlock isn't so bad. Incidentally it's also stupid that the Driver's Assistance Package requires the Executive Package. I don't want that either but there's NO dependency I can see that would require that.

I'm not too much a fan of HUD, for me it's just fancy add-ons whereas CA is really convenient. Even though it's a shame that it's not a standard feature on a 80k 90k car, I would pay the premium to have it, just not when it's bundled in 5k package with a whole bunch of crap that I most likely will never use/care.
