Anyone catch this?

The usually mild-mannered middleweight champion took no prisoners Monday during a UFC 148 conference call, speaking with unprecedented candor about his plans for Chael Sonnen at the July 7 event in Las Vegas.

“It doesn’t matter if I’m on bottom, side or top. Chael Sonnen is going to get his ass kicked like he’s never gotten his ass kicked before,” Silva said through a translator. “What I’m going to do inside the Octagon is something that’s gonna change the image of the sport. I’m going to make sure that every one of his teeth are broken, his arms are broke, his legs are broke. He’s not going to be able to walk out of the Octagon by himself, I can guarantee that. I know he’s listening: The game is over, no more s--- talking. It’s on now.”

Wow. Strong words. I hope this is a good fight and not something where they dance around waiting for one another to attack for the entire time.

Yep I listened to the conference. Apparently his translator tried to put it in a very mild way. I wonder what the direct translation would have been?

I want to see Silva fuck chael up for a good 3 rounds before ko-ing the fuck out of him.

So today chael made some sort of interview comeback but let's be honest here, he wasn't ready for what Silva had to say on Monday.

I love it. Here's why:

The only reason we haven't seen 4 ridiculous Silva fights in a row (Before Sonnen) is Forrest Griffin. Forrest came forward the entire time, forcing Silva to fight - giving us a beautiful display of his striking.

If he is 10% as angry as he says he is, then we are bound to see a Silva not so interested in shadow boxing and palying air-guitar but to actually kick his opponents a$$...... either way - whether Sonnen is in his head or he is just mad, I predict a better fight than his last few so I'm tuning in.

I'm actually surprised that many words came out. Usually when Silva's translator is involved, Silva speaks in Portugese for 10 minutes and then his translator goes "He says, Yes!"

Do you really think Chael can put on anything remotely exciting if he were to win then defend the belt?? Don't get me wrong, Chael is a monster, but I hate wrestlers and their grind-out-a-5-round-decision style.

Why do people have so much hate for Silva? Seriously asking, is it because of his string of god-awful fights against Maia, Leites, and Cote? Do his other crushing wins in the UFC not make up for those few shit fights?

But that isn't what happened, Chael was going after Silva the entire fight. He had every round won up till that submission.

The reason I hate Silva is because of what he has been doing lately, taunting opponents in the octagon and not trying to finish them. I forget which exact fight it was he taunted the guy for all 5 rounds instead of trying to fight him. Dana said he was considering kicking him out of the UFC after it which would have been justified.

True, Silva was COMPLETELY dominated in the first fight against Chael, but he never finished Anderson. He just controlled him from the top and pounded on him for 4.8 rounds... exactly why his dumb ass got caught in that triangle (which he's known for giving up).

That Dana drama was after the Maia fight, I agree, that shit was horrible. I was pissed after that fight. He ran around for 5 rounds, he only taunted him for maybe 3, wanting Maia to engage, which Maia would never do with his entry level striking, and Anderson's gay ass wouldn't commit to any strikes out of fear of getting taken down by Maia.

But fair enough, after that Maia fight I guess I see why people could have a reason not to like Anderson. But by no means would I ever want Chael, or any other wrestle first type of guy, to be champ.

I only see Chael winning by 5 round decision via lay and pray gnp. Silva has a lot more tools, he can win by KO/TKO or sub, possibly decision too. I do think the longer the fight goes on it favours Chael more, but I can't look past Silva. He will be ready and he's pissed.
