Painted Diffuser?
Has anyone with an AW M5 painted the OEM diffuser black? Was curious how it would look.

Thanks - that does look nice. Ive noticed on some 7-series on the road they come with a black diffuser and it looks good.

I think up close the painted diffuser looks good but from afar it plays more to the look of a 550 Sport. I have seen a few in person.
Im keeping my AW M5 diffuser white. I wish there was a center section with some more aggressive fins though??

I agree that by painting it black you lose the visual contours of the diffuser. Mine will definitely stay white.

I just did this to mine. My friends at Performance Technic ordered one for their 550 but ended up not installing it. I also changed exhaust tips to black.

Don't do it. Than it'll look like a 550

My M5 will be Space Gray when I get it, who knows how many months from now, and I also think the 3D piece will look good. But, to test the look I'll paint my stock diffuser a matte black first and perhaps that might give me the look I want. It won't be as fancy and nicely shaped as the 3D unit, but it won't cost $1,900 either. Breaking up that large expanse of one color helps the back of the car I think. I don't know if the stock muffler tips can be replaced, but some dark, non-chrome tips would be what I'm looking for.

Here's a quick picture of my diffuser and exhaust tips. I thought my shop took more. If I get more, I'll post.

That looks really good, and I also like the black chrome tips. I'd like to see more if you do get them. I may rethink my matte black decision. I've never used the low gloss additive for the clear coat anyway, and would probably screw it up.
