At 1200 miles my car needed a quart. Perfect timing for the first service.

Unless it is going to give rise to engine problems, I'm not that bothered by its thirst.

Seat those rings guys!! Rev the nuts off it briefly when everything is nice and warmed up and hold full throttle in 7th gear (S mode) at low revs/speed occasionally.

BTW, my car has not needed one bit of oil added. Of course I had the oil replaced at the 1200 miles service, but at 2300 miles currently it hasn't budged from the max marking.

Probably very similar consumption, though YMMV slightly. Mine bonged yesterday as I pulled into my job that I need to add a liter/quart ASAP. Mileage was at 1060. The dealership opted not to perform the break-in service at that time but scheduled me for next Friday. Incidentally, they used BMW 5W-30.
