BMW Loaner Vehicle
This may be a bit off topic...but I couldn't think of another place to post this. When service is performed on the M5, what type of loaner are you typically given? When I had my 2009 M3, it was ALWAYS...a 328i (base model...no options). Does BMW adjust what they give you based on the series you're driving? Should I expect a 5 series loaner with my new M5?

328 for my last two visits as well. If you really care, just ask them for an upgrade.

The only reason I really care is the seat...the 328i seats are rock hard...at least from my experience. So I simply have to ask and they'll usually comply with the request? I'll keep that in mind then...thanks for the input.

Its always been a base model 328i for me. The one nice thing about driving the loaner for a day or two is that my appreciation for my car increases 10x when i get it back.

I concur...haven't had to take my M5 in for service yet (only 400 miles on it so far) but I can only imagine how getting into a 328i will feel...lol...had to do it with the M3 all the time...

I don't have a M5. But my dealer always gives me loaner cars that's more expensive than mine. I find that odd ....

I have had everything from base level 3series, to a new 535, x3, hell even a few enterprise rentals back when I had my M3. THe dealers I've worked with it's all been what has been available at the time of service.

328i and 335d. I usually get the 335d if they have one available. Although I did spot a 5 series loaner driving around town recently. Haven't had another loaner since I saw the 5 so I can't confirm that thy also loan 5s on a regular basis.

Just scheduled my 1200 mile break in service and told the SA he better not give me a 328i to drive. He said that was all they have in their loaner inventory! (Not even a 335)

The trick is to call ahead to reserve a loaner vehicle.
