Inexpensive way to dress up your M5

If you have a heat gun and you have worked with wrap before you can do this. Buy Di-noc 1080. Its very pliable under heat. The rear diffuser comes off pretty easily.

Interesting, how difficult is it to remove the Di-noc if you want to undo?

Very easy, especially if you have a blow dryer or heat gun (heat gun works better). It won't leave any marks or glue residue either.

Have you tried wrapping the interior trim to have a M6 look?

How about wrapping the front grills, side vents, & the chrome trim on door handle ? This is what I have in mind, but not sure if it works.

Front and sides not worth the trouble IMO ... Chrome door handles are very easy.

I notice a bit of uneven waviness to the pattern. Is this due to the heat and stretching or is this how the pattern comes? BTW, great idea for a cost effective mod.

Well executed. This is something I usually see on imports for the teenage crowd, but doesn't look too bad

I suppose maybe some stretching occurred but its really not noticeable in person. I didn't notice it until I saw the pics.

I did this for not only reasons of aesthetics. The door handle trim had to be done. I did not want any chrome on the car. The B pillars have that glossy black look to them. Well, they also get scratched very easily or passengers always get their fingerprints on them. So, I put this stuff on there because it protects, looks nice, and does not show fingerprints.

That looks like the stuff. I cannot read the description. I was told by a friend that the "1080" is more pliable and I agree. I have always purchased it off of ebay. I don't know if people will ship the product to your country.

Found it, CF-12...

Now how much do you need ? they sell it by the meter... I want to do the back and the doors like you...

Standard size is 50cm x 152cm , then you go in 50 cm increments... 100 x 152 , 150 x 152 and so on...

This looks like a fun DIY. I'm going to do the interior trim on my landcruiser.

aculeg87 thanks for the info on this, this stuff is what makes the forum great.

This is the smaller roll, so the 50 x 152 cm ... Thanks bro

Would you share a picture of what you call Heat Gun, I am in Europe might be called slightly different here...

A heat gun is basically a Blow dryer (that thing women use to dry their hair for hours and hours) but it blows way hotter. They are inexpensive and they have many applications. You can use a blow dryer too. Keep in mind that if you get the stuff too hot it will warp and change shape so be careful and get a feel for how this stuff works.

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions

Here is 'an example' http://www.lowes.com/pd_43582-97-050...gun&facetInfo=

However, it would be important to know the specific heat range needed for the material as that will dictate the gun purchased (different heat guns/different heat ranges/settings)

Otherwise, it can be a bit risky (for the wrap and the material).
