Has anyone put spacers on their M5 yet???

I was wondering if anyone put spacers on. If so, what size, all 4 or just rear? Any issues? Please post pics if you can? Thank you

I have mounted 15mm spacers front and rear and have nothing negative with this. Looks so much better IMO

I am having my spacers installed on Wed. I will post pre and post pics. I have stock 20's with H&R springs. I have ordered 12mm for the rear and 10mm for the front.
Stay tuned......

So let me get this right. We have the best German M engineers log in thousands of miles on the ring to ensure this car performs anywhere in the world but we shade tree engineers what to screw up their work with spacers? Really? The thing is perfect from the factory. Leave it alone. along with painted reflectors and all that trash you guys do.

In closing:

The car is perfect as it is. Leave it alone.

To each their own. There are hardcore custom tuner enthusiasts, stock purists, and everyone in between. I personally don't like the "sunken in" wheel look, not so much that there is a performance benefit (zero or negligible difference anyway). The F10 M5 isn't all too bad compared to other vehicles, though. It's a matter of personal taste just like anyone ordering from factory a different vehicle color or different style factory 19" or 20" wheels. In addition, the euro spec bumper has no reflectors and the painted ones merely mimic it as an affordable option.

I wonder how many of us buy things and just leave it alone. Heck the fun part of buying anything with a motor is having the mod bug. Back in 2001 a bunch of us in houston bought 2001 yamaha 1200 waverunners. Through our collected efforts and some of our buddies in other states our tunning/modding, we went from 68mph stock to well over 85mph on a single pipe bigbore. We now 4-stroke skis going well over 100mph!!! Let the mods begin. Point is if everything stayed the same it would be boring.

Your point on the reflectors is assinine.

The car as made in Germany has no orange reflectors, so the painted reflectors bring the car closer to the way its designers envisioned it. The orange reflectors are an abomination mandated by the DOT which bastardize a perfect design.

This is the M5 I drove in October 2011. No ugly orange reflectors.

So my other points are valid. Ill take that, while you stress over reflectors.

Not really, maybe in your head they're valid. You're very welcome to having your own opinion - nothing wrong with that. Some shocking news, though, might be to discover that BMW and it's M engineers are *gasp* not perfect and don't get to do whatever they like. They still have to abide by price budgets, emissions, country specific laws, etc. Not to mention each customer, designer, engineer, etc. has their personal taste and vision so you can't please everyone.

The M guys may build a car that is absolutely superb straight out of the box but given enough $$ and time I'm sure they could've figured out countless alternatives to parts such as Active Sound, single-piston sliding rear calipers, etc.

It seems your original post was the most dramatic and disgruntled. People are going to tune their cars however they like... get over it and have a nice day.
