Letting the Wife drive the M5 for the 1st time - M5POST

Her X5 is in the shop and I have the BMW loaner today for the drive-in to work and swap afterwards for the completed X5.

Therefore she has my M5 to drive around town today. Makes me a bit nervous - she called me to ask if she was in the correct "shift" mode.

Anonymous caller to Police Dispatcher: "Yes, I'm calling to report a black M5 traveling at a high rate of speed down I-395 into Washington DC. The lady driving it appears to be driving very dangerously and aggressively."

Later that same day

MSportDC to wife: "How did your day go hon?"

Wife: "Well not that great. I got pulled by a cop and they gave me a ticket. I tried to tell them I wasn't speeding, but they said someone called in to report me being an aggressive driver."

And for a split second, MSportDC felt bad about calling the dispatcher, but that moment past quickly.

MSportDC: "Uh huh sure. I don't want to ever hear about how I drive too__ fast!"

Or maybe it will just be another day and she will do fine driving your car.

Mine drove mine yesterday while I was out of town. Reminded me of the scene from Risky Business where Tom Cruise takes his dad's car out when he is out of town. Long story short she wants one for her own now...

We're in the process of switching things up so we sold my wife's car last weekend and haven't replaced it yet. She's been driving the M5 this week and now feels that maybe I'm the one who needs to find a new car...

LOL, my wife drives the M as much as I do.... Maybe more, I drive my veggie oil powered car to offset the gas consumption.

Mine drives mine all the time. In fact, I had let my mom take it out first with me, then by herself and she is the real speed demon. I can still see the smile on her face. Absolutly floored it as soon as she took it out of reverse. I was like whoa nelly. LOL

My wife drives all the cars we own anytime (this is the third M5) and I enjoy the fact that she can enjoy them as well...the only problem is that she has become a power and torque

Guys - i bought my WIFE the M5; She is the daily driver - although i haven't seen her RPM's above 1800 yet

Seriously - we switched her 2011 740i for a 2012 F10 M5 - she loves it - and i love it too as i get to drive it, in addition to my 911.... i'd say, give HER the M5 and buy yourself an additional toy...

Same here - as we dont drive to work, we dont need two cars (nor can we have two covered parking spots). Apparently she loves to drive without me in the car so she can open it up.

997usa, I like the way you think. I've been eyeing the new 911s - I hear they are fantastic. Although the M5 is a great car, I feel that I want something smaller and more nimble

My wife hasn't driven the F10 yet, but she drove my E60s from time to time. The funniest thing she tells me is how other cars race up to get a look at the car, and the looks on their faces when they see her driving! It seems most people don't expect to see a woman driving M5s.
