Backfire sound? - M5POST

Just got my new M5. Does anybody else have this sound, almost like a small "backfire" when you lift off the accelerator suddenly, and sometimes during an up shifts as the load comes off the engine. Is that normal? Maybe a bit of compressor surge on the turbos?

Normal and awesome! Push it in 2nd and then shift to 3rd at about 5000RPM...BANG!

Alas...the sound fades as she breaks in

Totally normal though

Everytime I approach a bridge or tunnel I full throttle in first to 7200RPMS just so I can hear that Gunshot.

Sounds even more pronounced with a good exhaust. The pops and crackles are much more enjoyable.

Still not a patch on my m3 going on the motorway with concrete all around though....

I was wondering where that bang sound has gone to!!! That explained. I missed ones when car was under break in.
