Have you guys driven the 991 S? I was bored by it. Seems like it too has gone the way of more weight and size. Looking forward to the upcoming GT3 though

Do you hear creaking sounds from both doors? Such as when slowly moving the car up onto a driveway or something similar?

If so, it could most likely be the door sills (rubber seals on the doors and on door frame). Try using Gummi Pflege..

It's possible it could be something completely different, but this was a common issue in my E60 M5. I know how annoying it is, so thought I would chime in on a possible fix.

I would have gone with the Panamera Turbo S.. or waited on the new 2014 S Class AMG (63 or 65 if they make it again).

I tried gummi pflege and it wasn't enough. But my dealer fixed it with some silicon.

I am in the market for a super sedan myself and my order of preference is as follows:

1) F10 M5
2) F80 M3 (maybe)
3) Porsche Panny 4S or GTS
4) MB E63 AMG

I like all 3 (except M3 since I cannot actually drive it yet) and the M5 is the best car for the money IMHO. The Panny is the best car overall, but it is underpowered for what it costs and the trunk space is a joke. I am debating picking up an M5 this year or waiting until spring of 2014 to see what the F80 M3 looks like.

That's a hard question. Not a usual choice but I would have gone MB ML63.
A very good question tough

What did your dealer do with silicone to fix it?

really? bored?

thats the first negative comment ive heard on it.

actually its advertised as ~ 70 kg "lighter" than the previous carrera. maybe it just felt lighter because its a little bigger?

anyway, the 991 carrera s was going to be my answer to this thread. still may get one next year.

2010 gt3. It was a actually a coin toss up. I made the right decision. My dad is thinking on buying the new 427 corvette when he retires this year. I hope he gets it so we can trade off sometimes.

It's not wasted money if it's on something you want
After all that's what money is for right!

I don't know. But the guy to talk to is Michele at BMW South Miami.

I tried gummi-pflege myself several times without success. Michele fixed it in a single attempt with some silicon product.

I wonder if that would fix the crackly sound from my sunroof when I open the inner cover?

Sounds like you are very happy with your Dinan stage four 535i. Congrats. The rest of us are happy with the M5.

The M5 is not for everyone.

When you call it a Porsche "Panny" is sounds pretty funny.

I don't own an M5 but I'm trying patiently to hold out for an M4 Gran Coupe. We'll see.
