Exhaust question for anyone with experience
So I've been looking into getting some more tone out of my car. I'm currently running HFC Downpipes on an OEM exhaust. Even though I can, I really don't feel like dropping 4k on a Valvetronic exhaust, considering that it's still a 3" pipe just like OEM. Does anyone have experience with the Valvetronic valved mufflers? Or can anyone make a suggestion as to what aftermarket mufflers to run? I don't want a muffler delete, because sometimes I take my son out to track days in the car. So I don't want it obnoxiously loud. Thanks in advance!

NC owner here too. I have HFC downpipes as well. I felt those gave the car a nicer growl. I've read the constriction in the F10 exhaust is the cats, and the rest is fairly free-flowing. So, anything else you do is just noise and not hp. Mine is my daily so I didn't want anything too loud. I zip tied my valves so they stay open and called it a day. I have Eisenmann mufflers on my e39 and e46 and have been pleased with those. Good luck

Akra for me, with decat downpipes. The Akra is a bit louder than oem system, but has a more exotic tone. And bear in mind that our exhausts are a lot louder on the outside, to how they sound inside!
