Being in Dallas there aren't many options. One dealer here isn't even M certified if you can believe that, whatever that means. I will look around. May have to try Houston, Austin or San Antonio. M |

Any particular reason you have to stay in-state? You can always order through an out-of-state dealer and just arrange to have the car delivered to your dealership. Or better yet, fly to the dealership and make a nice road trip out of your M5's maiden drive.

I am looking for the best ED deal. So a dealership that can give me ED MSRP or better (discount) no matter where in the U.S. will have my business. Anyway, I am planning on having it shipped to the PC (South Carolina) after ED.

Any word from someone official on timing of the Order Bank opening this week? It would be great to know the night before or some time in advance so we're not having to call our dealers every day to check?
Also, first timer here, but how does the process work with the dealers and their allocations relative to the timing or sequence of orders placed? Can dealers only order based on their allocation or do they put in whatever orders they have committed and then they are fulfilled as allocations free up? (I'm sure there's a thread on this somewhere that Jason will point out for me ;-).) I would assume that some dealers are prioritized over others based on performance and what not. |

Sometime this week (first week of May) the order bank will open and they will find out how many initial cars they will be offered. Those orders will be fulfilled. Any dealerships that have more people on the list than avaialbe cars, will have to wait for additional allocation. Or alternatively, try to trade another dealership that has more allocation than orders for the rights to the car. |

The only drawback I can think of is service and loaners. I went to a dealership in NJ once that wouldn't give loaners to people who did not buy their cars from them. Or they would give you a Geo - when they existed. No chance Im dropping my $100k car off and driving around in a Ford Focus or something...yeah I said it!

Not entirely sure it is based on time, but more of production.
When BMW puts 30 more M5's into production for the USA, I am sure there is some algorythm that determines which dealerships get each number of cars based on market, size, previous sales, etc, etc. They get handed out that way. |

Comfort keyless entry is also $0 option. Is there any reason NOT to get comfort access? |

Two questions -
1.) Unless I missed it, I did not see anything regarding the side view mirrors other than auto dimming feature. Are they automatic fold in? Or is this an option? 2.) DRL - If you do not want daytime running lights activated, do you need to tel the dealer prior to delivery or can you control that yourself in I-drive? |

Wheel and Brake Combo?
Went to the dealership today to place order. For whatever reason the configurator wont allow you to get the the 20" rims with the "standard" M brakes. Instead when you select the 20" rims it stops you and says you have to get the Carbon Ceramic brakes and if you select the Carbon Ceramic brakes it says you have to get the 20" rims.
Can someone shed some light on this? Is this right????!!!! Dealer is looking into it. |

See http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=685168 It seems that the configurator still having some kinks that need to be ironed out.
