I am not a frost paint fan at all, it looks unfinished for me, but that's a personal opinion and I hope people who choose it will enjoy it.
However, I have a friend that has one, and I can tell you that a bird shit couldn't be cleaned with anything. After so many tries of different technics the spot looks actually awful. So I will say, No thanks...
Anyway, for me, shine is an element of pride, of a car well mainained.

I live and work near the ocean and my cars constantly get bombed by super acidic seagull crap, which will literally make a mess of your paint within an hour, even less if its in the sun. I keep a bottle of quick detailer and a rag in the trunk of the cars. This is the only way to keep my paint from being damaged. I was considering a matte finish m3 but this completely changes that.

Heck try the special edition lotus that came out a year or two ago. The paint felt "soft" to the touch
Pretty much means you can't drive the car...as it'll ruin the paint. Effing retarded.

Matte paint is overdone. IMHO of course. Not to mention you have to relearn everything you've learned about car care.

BMW doesnt offer matte. It is called Frozen for a reason. More of a satin finish (low lustre)

It is not. Matte would be completely dull, like most foil wraps. Frozen has a shine to it (matte doesn't have any shine)

I was exactly thinking of that TG episode, was hilarious!

The matte/frozen motif has been so overdone in the aftermarket, that sadly I don't think I'd ever opt for it even in factory form. MB for me, or an individual non-frozen color.

As far as the microfiber towels go, the secret is to have it damp a little bit when wiping it off. In video the guy uses a shamee to wipe it off and it has to be damp/wet as well. If you notice the microfiber looks dry hence the fact it could polish it, and he seems to apply lots of downpressure on it. Just gently apply pressure and it dries the car out.
hey just checking i ordered a frozen blue m5 f10 before this crazy video so your saying its fine to run through a car wash?..ive been going nuts with regret of ordering a frozen color due to all the hassle

You can drive through a car wash as long as it doesn't use any wax/polish/gloss enhancers. Geting them off is possible but time consuming
Folks like Swissvax have special matt paint care kits http://www.swissvax.us/usa/matt-paint.html
I was very tempted to go with Frozen Brilliant White but decided against it as it was just too impractical here in the north east (and concerns about others not knowing how to care/deal with frozen finishes (dealers, valets, friends/others) )
