Looks great. Drive it for a few weeks and it will grown on you. 35 is too light It's almost pointless to tint .. Lol
Looks good!! Give it a few days for the tint to cure. There is probably still a lot of moisture in the tint which will cause distortion.
After 72 hours or so use a good quality glass cleaner (ph neutral and no ammonia) and microfiber to get them cleaned up.

I did 25% on all windows except the windshield. The windshield I did in 70%. I went a little darker because I have the full merino in Silverstone which is pretty light.
300-400 for the whole car with a "high quality" tint is about right.
Good luck and shop around, I wouldn't use the two brands you mentioned. Yes, you need to let the window tint cure, most shops recommend do not roll down for 72 hours.
Here's a pic so you can see:
I think your tint looks great. It's not really dark and just about ample privacy. I will ask about this as well. 25% on all windows (sides and back)?

Thanks
Sorry for the late response, I just saw this. Yes 25% on all windows. Windshield is 70%.

Thanks man. Does it become lighter once moisture evaporates? I'm not liking it this dark...

Frisky - agreed. If I don't like it in a couple of weeks, I will have it removed...

Thank you. Is the distortion causing it look darker?

I think I can get in trouble with this dark of tint on rear window and front driver and passenger Windows. Tinting is not legal in NY and NJ but people with light tints are usually not bothered.

I wanted something close to having same light pass through of the moonroof. It's not too dark or light.

SS II is the money..great color, of course I am biased! I'm on around 25% tint on side windows, but I left my front and rear windows alone. I got my wheels powder coated graphite.. Very happy with result.

Looks awesome. Can still see the outline of the seats and can tell they aren't black.

The distortion should go away within 24 hours. It may take a bit longer since it is winter and you are up north.

The darkness won't go away. I think you went too dark. I imagine also your interior doesn't look as nice because of the tinted light coming in distorting the caramel leather color.

I would have suggested getting the Prestige Photosync film. No darker than 55%, It has better heat rejection with less darkness, and it darkens by about 6-7% when in direct sunlight.

E90potentialbuyer Dude it looks amazing!! You'll get used to it real quick. I've been sitting in 5% tint my whole life ( My dad also had limo tints when I was a baby) Now that I have kids. I go 5% on the rear window, and 20% all around, and 50% on the front windshield. Like most said, 35% is just not worth it unless it's ceramic and you are going after heat. And sacrificing the look. IMO, the darker then better OVER ANY COLOR BMW

FYI, I'll see you at our huge meet next week at Floyd Bennett Field, bring your friends

EDIT: ALso next time/next car goto Tom Kovach over at the Art of Tint in Brooklyn. I'll get you $50 off as well for referrals. He is by far one of the best in the U.S. Top 10 tinters in the world easy

I looked at it again and don't like it. Too dark. The caramel seats don't look as nice with this dark of a tint. I think a dark grey tint on caramel (brown undertone) is a mismatch. Ugh.

I will now be paying to remove it. I think I will go tintless for now. Need to do more research before putting one on, if at all.

Thanks everyone for the help.

THIS. I mean, you paid $$$$ for that beautiful interior, only to hide with dark tints. That type of interior needs to be shown off. Thats why Im going to keep my windows OEM.

You don't really need a tint in winter so you can decide by around April. FWIW in my current cars I don't have any tint. Only my wife's car has tint and that's because it was already tinted by dealer.

I would suggest you end up choosing a 70% or higher film and you won't notice any difference in light, just protect against UV and heat.

If you get a 70% or 90% tint, you would be fine. A film like CR90 is pretty much invisible.

so from an oncoming cop staring straight at you it's not noticeable. i'm guessing this keeps the car cooler since all windows are tinted?

A good UV and IR screen on the windshield can have a major impact on heat reduction since the windshield is the largest single glass surface and the one directly facing the driver.

I think it looks ok but I'm tellin ya that the dark will attract too many troopers in that bad azz car. Those dudes from Texas can go real dark cause it gets very hot there and they don't have a tint law of no more than 70%. And 35 or even 40 is noticeable. Subtle is the sweet spot for these cars ensuring it remains classy as well as bad. It's when you go 50 and up you really can't tell and I don't think it's worth it. Just my thoughts, ymmv.

Stealth pilot....really your worried about tint in uk I grew up there and don't think we ever tinted any car....I guess it might help to keep the heat inside
I had ceramic tint done on mine and it's amazing...

Op go to Walmart and get a steamer for $24 you can remove your own tint in about 15 mins.....and then give it to the misses for an early xmas gift

Hey E90potentialbuyer - So did you redo your tints to a lighter tint from 25? Im thinking of getting a light tinting as well so Im wondering what your experience has been.

Frisky, if you are still looking to get your tints done, i high recommend art of tint. i had the formula one pinnacle on my 535 and it was great. my first time using it and i was a bit skeptical at first but it looks for better than the 3M, Solargard, Johnston ive had in the past.
