P1 ?
This one (Jeddah) and P1 is for Sainz , because he can get Charlie's race mappings from Bahrain as well ..
And Binotto said : We don't have a first driver !

1 - Sainz
2 - Charlie
3 - MAX
4 - Checo
5 - HAM
6 - RUS
And hopefully P7 - Is for Kmag...Go KEVIN !!!

Can't wait ...
Lol you don't even have proof they were on different engine modes.

Normally I really like street circuits, but this is my least favorite one.
I like street circuits because of their usual bumpyness, and sometimes really slow corners, which demands a totally different setup, but this one is neither.

My prediction:
1. VER
2. LEC
3. SAI
4. HAM
5. PER
6. GAS
7. RUS
8. KMAG
9. ALO
10. TSU

For sure PU modes are top secret but it's a fair assumption seing the performance of the F cars at Bahrain.

How many times was HAM let off inexplicably for misdemeanours which should have been punished or even more action taken, I don't suppose you have heard the saying 'What goes around comes around' if not then 'Even Steven's' should be known to you

One second my friend, Marko has said just now that a set up change from Friday to Saturday may have been the wrong one leading to higher tyre deg compared to the F cars when Max was challenging. Aside from the fuel problem which should be sorted soon I think the higher top speeds at jedda should give Max some advantage all being well with the strip down and repair.

Sounds about right, RB seems to have the top speed advantage. Wondering if the undercut will be as strong as Bahrain?

Yeah, VER made up some good time with that.
Provided RB can solve their fuel issue (or whatever it is), I give VER a chance.
LEC is just as VER a very very good qualifier which of course is very important on a street circuit, but maybe RB can give VER a tactical advantage during the race by letting Checo do some disturbing things (go box really late and slow down the red Ferrari train).
So I put VER on #1 and PER a bit lower.
I still rate RB tactically the best team. Last race Ferrari could only fence off RB during the undercuts because the car was better but every undercut VER won 4-6 seconds, and it forced LEC to use softs where maybe mediums would have been better if he would have continued his racepace undisturbed.

But lets see and wait what happens, it's just a prediction.

I'm also mostly curious if Mercedes is coming with a car that looks totally different within one week or if upgrades will take more time.
1st test session in barcelona they of course had a more conventional looking car.

I like both Charles and Max A LOT so I'm pretty happy seeing either of them taking the win.
Same here. As long as MB doesn't win, I'm good - but then again, just goes to show, even Ham being a great driver, cannot take a decent car and make it a winning car. Enjoy watching him in a car that isn't multiple standard deviations better than the next best car(s).

I don't see the RB competing with Ferrari at Jeddah even with higher trap speeds. Charles was a few tenths faster - the difference is pretty big. I think Max gets P2 just because he's a beast. I'd like to see Max in P1 but I'm not sure it will happen at Jeddah. I think Australia will be Red Bull's first win.

Folks are still underestimating Charles and Ferrari. They look exceptionally good right now - their main mission is to keep up with upgrades along side their competitors.

'If MAX wants to win this race ...

He must do it in QF-3 by shaving walls like crazy ( remember last year )

If he can pull P1 in QF ..That's the only way to beat Ferrari on this rat-trap- track .
And in the race ,then It's all about elbows out while he closes the doors ..

Otherwise It's P1/P2 for Ferrari again with the World Champions Car !

Mercedes won't be there in the top-5

Exactly...
Also; why would they purposely run 1 car de-tuned?
Makes zero sense

It was just the first 'real race test with the Ferrari (SuperFast) PU .
Ferrari played with 2 cards : A King and a Ace ...
IMHO. Nothing can stop Ferrari !

Still doesn't mean they detuned sainz's engine over Charles.

You must be blind ...Not to see what was going on.

Charlie => Pulled away from MAX very easily : A gap from 3-5 sec. in 5 laps .
Sainz => No way he was able to follow MAX .

I've seen the whole race 3 times now ...
The Ferrari power situation (distribution) was more than clear !

On the other hand : Where was Charlie last year ?
And what showed Sainz last year ?
Sainz wins next weekend !

This discussion is over ...

Doesn't mean it was because of engine mapping.

Car setup (drag) has a huge effect on speed.
I can definitely see then trying two different car setups.
