Just having a battery in it might help if it could be used for added KWH to the EV. But why the need for being self-propelled? I don't get it either.

Here is how the GREEN GRIFT works.
First come up with a product or service that will appeal to all the Greta Thunbergs of the world that think the world will end next Tuesday.
Second go get all the warm fuzzy press you can get. Easy if it's green enough.
Third secure funding, venture capital or institutional investors looking for ESG safety.
Fourth Press releases, lots of press releases, plus emotional promo videos and the hiring of social media influencers. Pictures with prominent politicians and celebrities a big plus.
Fifth Announce future stock offering and more press releases.
Sixth D Day, Public stock offering. Cash in on millions in financing.
Seventh Set up executives and board with high salaries and stock options
Eight Go on corporate spending spree under the auspices of promoting product.
Ninth Sell off personal stock at opportune times.
Tenth When company fails, sell it off for pennies on the dollar to some other corporation that could use some more ESG cover.
Eleventh Come up with new idea, rinse and repeat.

The key to a good GREEN GRIFT is to reduce the influence of the free market and increase the influence of externals like government largess and/or ESG policies. Who here thinks there is a market for a sell powered, solar powered, Lipo Battery equiped camper for $120,000.00 plus? I do, because we no longer live in a sane world. I project this will be a pet rock of the RV world but not until a lot of money changes hands.

Missing the step between two and three... cyber launch (hype) of product with "refundable" deposit for a future production slot. Promise low-price model that never comes to fruition.

Made the mistake of going to the LA auto show...let's just say it's not what it was pre-pandemic

Most of these EVs are nice cars...quite innovative and have some cool features/design aspects. But most have a shit value proposition. They're priced $10-20k higher than comparable gas cars and inherently compromised due to charging difficulties away from home (excluding Tesla). Add the fact they are first gen products which will be outdated quickly and horrid depreciation and I'm just not seeing the point. The modern tech, instant torque, and convenience of charging IF you own a home with a garage are the main selling points.

EVs will catch on more once prices come down and charging infrastructure improves, but until then there shouldn't be any "bans" on gas cars. Hybrids are the best of both worlds.

The list of folks I don't care about what befalls them is growing by the second. If you can't make decisions that are in the best interest of you or your family, then I don't want to hear about it. I'm sure there is a go fund me page for this idiot already.

Also sad that Hyundai got involved after the vehicle was scrapped.

Reminds me of when Tyler of Hoovie's Garage did a win one of his car challenge. The participants had to have a body part touching the car and whoever is last standing touching the car wins. Well, to distract and drive the contestants crazy, Hoovie had Scotty's intro of "REV UP YOUR ENGINES!" blasting non stop for hours.

With the $120k 'self propelled' on two wheels? trailer caravan and the CAN $50k Hyundai battery I'd be ready to call in the men with white coats to give some therapy to those interested, failing that then there's no other option apart from the funny farm.

Electric car battery prices are going back down faster than expected
Goldman Sachs Research now expects battery prices to fall to $99 per kilowatt hour (kWh) of storage capacity by 2025 — a 40% decrease from 2022 (the previous forecast was for a 33% decline). Our analysts estimate that almost half of the decline will come from declining prices of EV raw materials such as lithium, nickel, and cobalt. Battery pack prices are now expected to fall by an average of 11% per year from 2023 to 2030, writes Nikhil Bhandari, co-head of Goldman Sachs Research’s Asia-Pacific Natural Resources and Clean Energy Research, in the team’s report.

Good news for future EV uses bad news for early adoptors. Just in time to be replaced bu Solid State batteries.
