wow how do early 20s afford a $100k sports sedan? I had a E46 M3 in my early 20s with a decent job but it was no where near $100k.

I'm a couple months shy of 25, and bought my 2013 M5 while 23...because it was the same price as a new 2016 5 series when I visited the dealer, and it happened to be on the lot. I was trading in a 2012 335i with red seats after a nice promotion :-). Neither my wife nor I miss the 3 series. Last edited by xxjasonb0urnexx; 10-24-2017 at 08:57 AM.. |

The kicker is I'm in financial planning now! But as long as you're not financing a depreciating asset; most 20-something year olds are earning $75k-$100k+ out of college. It's my second year in the work force and my take home this year will be just shy of $190k. I plan on using my year-end bonus on the deposit for the F90.

Haha, I guess you're right about the "average" 20-year old. Average income is $50k; but Engineering and Comp Sci is $60-$65k base. I know a couple of CAT adjusters at age 21 they are clearing $200k in income. That $50k number factors in the idiots that major in Philosophy and History, aka baristas.... Once you factor in a decent school + decent degree, $75k is the minimum. Most of my buddies either went pro, big tech contracts in Cali, or took a exec role in their parents' company. Those that went pro earned $100k-$800k. Tech guys not counting RSUs pocket around $120k-$180k factoring in relocation and bonuses. Those that took over the businesses: One took over a metal stamping company, draws a $250k salary One took over multiple dealerships, draws a $750k salary (also not 21, but like 30 almost) Last one took over real estate portfolio, draws a $200k salary So, yes... you're right about the average-20 year old pulling in $50k, but the average 20-year doesn't care abut an M5!
