Damn i loveeee that color! And color matching brakes! But 552 hp doesn't seem more than 555hp on the x5m. Anyway i could only imagine how quick this car will be. Seems so perfect

Well, I know I'll be looking for a "daddy" car in a few years. Looks like I found it.

It looks aggressive enough to me. It looks 100x better than the e60 M5 from looks and power perspective. I'll take one... would love to see the new colors for it.

Hmm.....Not feeling it! I'll be looking for 09-10 E60 M5.
Not happy with the HP. Just 50hp more with 2 turbos?

Well, it is a turbo engine. So with small amount of money, I'm sure you can get at least 100 more hp out of it. Sure, it means torque will go up even more, and you'll buy rear tires every 5000miles, but still it can and will be done by many tuners.

You do realize that BMW reported specs for performance are universally conservative? Best achieved times are always quite a few tenths better than BMWs times. They probably do this for legal reasons to any jack hole can actually get those times.

Yes but the gap between 5.7 and 4.1 seconds is huge. Maybe it is true, but just seems to weak of a number for a car that has 500hp.

The engine being basically the same output as the X6M is indeed very disappointing and it is a great bellwether for the next M3. What I really want to know though is the cars weight. Weight, weight, weight. This is an even more important bellwether for the M division.

This will tell a lot about BMWs weight targets for the next M3.

So, in accordance with a small rant of mine a couple of weeks ago, where is the old fashioned dipstick to check oil? I think I'm headed for 550HP and 590TQ with a manual dipstick...

It's all B.S. until BMW is the source

I'll believe the power and performance figures when BMW provides them (or in the case of performance figures when there are actual test results).

Magazines have an extremely poor track record on specs before official announcements. Remember when MotorTrend claimed a few months back that the M5 would only have an automatic because the DCT could not handle the torque? Totally wrong of course - DCT is clearly seen in the concept and prototype cars.

The F10 550xi does 0 - 100 kph in 4.8 seconds so having the F10 M5 do it in 4.4 is not that impressive. I realize traction becomes the limiting factor but this seems too slow.

And 552 HP really seems wrong. The X5M and X6m already make 555 SAE horsepower (yes that's 3 hp more than the claimed power in the new M5) while the photos of the engine in the F10 M5 shows much larger turbos and inter-coolers. So, I call B.S. on the HP figure claimed by Autozeitung.

However, I'm glad to see that the black wheels are gone (or at least an option).

Look at the M3, official vs. best. IIRC that difference is 0.8 seconds. The 5.7 might also be a MT vs. SMG thing.

It is very likely that the F10 M5 will be a 4.0 or sub 4.0 second car to 60 mph.

Correcto. But we can't go quite so far to say "will" but perhaps "might".

Well it was rumored the M5 may get an optional AWD system. Not sure how they will keep the weight down if they do.

So will the break calipers match the body paint color?

Also a potential new m5 owner wants to know (not me) if the new color black/grey on the 5 series will be available on the m5. Ive forgotten thecname but it's more of a charcoal color. Looks absolutely sick and wish they had offered it when I ordered my e92.
