I have not done it yet, but by tapping power to a aftermarket LED strip from the cables, it should work like I write. Hopefully I'll receive the package this month, you can wait and see

Although the video says he has no lighting package I did notice that he has an illuminated a/c radio trim.. so either he has the cup holder light or the oem footwell lights to tap into. I have none of those

I removed the steering wheel and all the trim pieces, easier to do and cleaner resultat. There are numerous vids:

I haven't done a whole lot to mine, I really like the colors/materials as-is for the most part.



One thing I did though, is rewrap the steering wheel with Nappa leather. Feels much better than the factory, almost polyurethane feeling material.

Yippee my Benzinfabrik LED arrived and other parts. Made up my 3 way Y cables last night to extend ambient lighting to the door pockets like on the F10

Main ambient light upgraded to Benzinfabrik and speaker and door pocket running LCI modules.

F80: knee bolster and extendable armrest and M1/m2 buttons,
LCI: anthracite trim, LCI ambient radio panel and LCI Ac control, EU light switch
pre LCI:glove box USB, b pillar ambients

Other: Msport brake and throttle covers to match factory dead pedal, center speaker illumination, light switch pearl trims Bimmer8 SLI module

Invisible: match up7bmw and earthquakes with custom tuning, coding m performance on cluster and idrive splash screens etc

So complete stage 2 of my ambient lighting upgrade, added ambient lights to my rear speakers. All main leds upgrades to Benzinfabrik and speakers using lci. Ran out of optic fibre to complete the door pockets. May also do the front tweeters for that G series look.

Very happy with how it came out.

I used LED module 63319353133 they are the slightly brighter Lci versions for the speakers.
