This is is a full ECU flash. Estimated gains of ~40whp/60ft.lb TQ should be seen on the N63, maybe even a bit more on the table with higher octane.

I perform factory software updates for my clients as well rather then going to the dealer, just simply stating that the performance tune will be over written which will require a re-flash |

tom would we have to resend the ecu's to you to flash again if we live in say TX and the dealer updates our ecu after the original flash?

Not every I-Level update calls for reprogramming the ECUs. However, if it is overwritten, they will need to be sent in for reflashing of the ESS tune, not a problem at all.

Would it be possible to request the tune with a flat 500lbft torque plateau?
Also can you tune per gear, ie a max of 400lbft in first, then 450, 500, 500, then have full torque throughout the range in 5th, 6th, 7th? |

"well respected"
Tom,
I would dispute the term "well respected" when describing ESS. Checkout my nightmare story with the T-700 tune. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/f10...g-rip-off.html best regards, Khaled |

IMO it's better to get the timing fixed and enjoy the remap. In the long run you will be happy. Otherwise, just remove the down pipes and run the car as is. Personally I feel 600whp is more than enough anyway.. Best of luck either way I can only hope your issue is resolved.

The $2800 USD downpipes
MCarsFan,
ESS sold me the Downpipes under false pretenses. The main issue for me now is the HFC Downpipes which AJ attributed the error to. He told me that the power cut was due to my custom downpipes and that the ESS HFC DPs would resolve this. Before ordering the DPs, I asked him if he would refund me if the problem did not go away after installing the ESS DPs (this is document in the email thread which I attached - how clear does it have to be? I have in in writing from AJ) why won't ESS commit to their own email!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Look, I'm not your enemy here but honestly if you get them to sort out the timing your issue will go away and you will be happy. I have had a remap for almost 8000 miles and it's made the car awesome. I understand your downpipes issue did not fix the problem and that's frustrating! What will you do with the set of HFC downpipes?
You have to chose, either remove the downpipes and the timing issue will resolve itself or you need to send in the ecus for the timing to be resolved.. The third option is raise the octane by using race gas or an octane booster..You will see that the issue will go away.. Personally I would just remove the downpipes if it's such a hassle to send the ECUs back. I understand your frustrations, you are not the first to have had some issues with a remap and certainly not the last.. The reality is you had the balls to get the remap done and there in nothing more disappointing than having your car run badly. I have spoken to at least 15 forum members over this year with similar issues when they fit downpipes. Tunes from a number of providers have had timing issues. I'm telling you this because I know and there are a number of forum members who can give you a similar answer. On the return policy or lack of response, I'm sorry to hear that as I have enjoyed my experiences with Tom and eas. I hope you get the downpipes refunded and that they can resolve this issue. Just wanted to help...but it seems like you need to hear what I'm saying here. You can't have it both ways..

I have the ESS tune. Trying to find time to hit the track, and every test and tune night has been too hot. Today perhaps, but threatening rain might cancel. I hope with the addition of this tune and MSR intake to be running low 11s.

No dyno. Didn't run the car tonight. No T&T for the next 2 weeks.
