Hows the steering feel with the Dynamic Package?
Im about to get one. Im ordering one with the dynamic Package, Exclusive interior package, Carbon fiber PKG, B&O, Alcantara Headligner. Mine is a little under $150K. Im leasing the car and payment was better than i expected. Also looking at the Panamera Turbo but lease is crazy. Also not wild about the looks. Im coming from a F10 M5 and a 991S. I can't drive one as my local dealer doesn't have one. |

Congrats on the car sounds incredible- I opted for the more simple standard interior and waiver of the B and O/Alcantara headliner. But I dont keep my cars all too long so it was more about the Dynamic Package and how it handled as the air car was too fluffy.

Im getting okay lease numbers on the car. $2100/Month for 36 Month Term. Im Prepaying the lease up front since Texas Collects Sales Tax on the Value of the vehicle and get a tax break on a one-pay. Still not sure on the RS7. I don't keep my cars that long also and i can get a $120K M5 for $1500/Month for 24 Months. Hard Decision for me to make. Although i feel I'm getting a nicer car with the RS7 i don't think its worth the extra $$. Im also considering a Panamera Turbo but lease is $3K a month on a 36 month term for a $160K Car. For Leasing Purposes I think the M5 is the way to go. |

The tune is in!!!!!! Oh lord its every bit as good as advertised and then some. I pulled both resonators (the RS7 has mid and rear resonators) and the exhaust is, frankly, bad ass. I only have about 15 miles on the tune and will post thoughts after I drive the car further. My initial thoughts are this car, tuned, is now faster than my tuned Turbo S or very damn close to it. This is where the ZF tranny comes into play with the extra tq bumps along with the AWD for stupid launches.
Here is a dyno (not my car) of the same tune at GIAC where I got mine done. I hate that Cali only has 91 octane readily available and remember these are AWD gains so the bumps are even more impressive. On 91 octane fuel, peak to peak performance gains are measured at 80-85 wheel HP and 130-135 ft lbs wheel torque. In some areas of the power band, gains are as high as 121 wheel HP and 145 ft lbs wheel torque.

If there is one purported (small) fault on this car, it's the small displacement engine and consequent turbo lag. What are your thoughts on this post-tune? |

Have you driven an RS7 in the correct modes? In D-S mode (no tune) there is minimal turbo lag if any. As you know I owned two S63tu cars and they don't have lag either but I never felt like the RS7 did as well, pre tune. In fact my Turbo S clearly has more lag and it has a smaller displacement at 3.8... The RS7 does have an inferior tranny when it comes to shift times which plays a role too but like I mentioned above I only have a few miles on it so I want more perspective.

Im sure there are few local dealers that will accomodate a test drive. Make sure to drive in Dynamic mode and set your steering and suspension to Auto. The gear selector needs to be placed in D and then pulled back one more time to get D-S mode. This S mode makes a huge difference.

How much boost is this 4.0l tt making with upgraded ecu on pump? It has less aggressive cams and .4L less displacement than f10 m5 yet achieves supercar performance numbers....

Don't mean to bump this thread with a somewhat off-topic question, but (I will, lol); Why do Audi's price so poorly compared to BMWs? I priced out the M5 I want with Dave Aviles - new build - and with a starting MSRP equal to the RS7 I priced out, the monthly cost was nearly $500 less for the BM. Same out-the-door on each. Is this normal?
Anyway, the RS7 has a lot of appeal for a daily and the M5 I was thinking of getting would be replaced by the Audi meaning the wife could get a 2013 M6 we have within arms reach (thing has like, 5500 miles and is spotless, for $80k). |
