M5 vs 550i ride comfort

Hi,
I was just wondering how much more comfortable the ride is in a 550i w/ Adaptive Suspension than an M5. Just wondering if any of you had experience with this.

My 550i M Sport had the same "Multi-Function Seats".
It felt just the same from memory, comfortable in all modes, possibly "softer" in Sport but unless tested back to back impossible to tell IMO.

When you're in an M5, you're a bit more comfortable because you know you have the baddest car on the road... :P

You can definitely feel the difference, in a good way. 550 more like a 7 series and the m5 more like an m3. It's comfortable and the seats are way better, among many other things.

I think the 550 uses Run-flats where as the M5 does not, so should give the M5 a big advantage on comfort settings....

If by comfortable you mean "soft," the 550 is much more supple and pliable. The M5 is noticeably more rigid.

I owned a 2011 550xi M Sport and swapped it for a 2014 M5 competition pack. Clearly the ride is firmer in the M5 but quite OK. For longer rides I leave it comfort and it's very smooth on the highway assuming reasonable quality road surface. Overall the M5 with ZCP is pretty civilized. I am now running on BMW408 winter wheel and Pirelli Sottozero 19" tire package and this has more comfort than the summer setup due to the higher profiles - 40 vs 35/30.

Garage List
I have the M5 CP. Does not drive like a 550. More harsh for sure and its noticeable on long drives, but thats what we are paying extra for.

The m5 stock tires makes the ride a little firm, you do feel the bumps on the road; however, it's still very comfortable because the seats hugs you so well.

Winter tires feels even softer on the ride in M5.
