A ghost, a Gremlin, or is it me?

Okay, it might be me, but let me explain.

2015 M5, sunroof cover. Now I always like to have this open, let's a good amount of light in. But for some weird reason every so often it likes to just close its self. Not fully, either halfway or three quarters.

Now it never happens when I'm in the car, it's seems to know when I'm about lol. I park, lock up all normal and open. I come back and it's either half of three quarter closed!

It doesn't happen all the time, miss spasmodic with no set pattern.

Now, yes I know it's under warranty and I will have it booked in to be checked, but it might help if I can point the dealer in a direction due to it being intermittent.

So the question, is it just me, or does anyone else have the same ghost/ gremlin?

Are you sure you're not holding down the lock "button" on the door handle? This would close the sun roof shade. I think also in the UK, you can do the same from the remote. So if it's in your pocket and the lock button is depressed, the shade will close - assuming of course you are within range.

^This^. When you lock the doors remotely and hold the button, it will close the panel depending on how long you hold it.

Thanks guys, I'm kicking myself here, you both hit the nail on the head. Feel somewhat a Pratt lol.

Thus the reason I posted here before going down the dealer route.

But this then does create an issue. Here in the UK, to fold the mirrors you need to press and hold the lock button. Now depending on how long you hold it, the sunroof cover is now partially closing. Surely an error? Or are we saying that to,fold the mirrors I need to just accept that the cover will close to a random point, neither open or closed?

As it folds the side mirrors, it concurrently closes the panel. Sorry.

In my x5, if I hold briefly, the mirrors fold. If I hold longer, then the roof curtain also closes, but only if I hold longer. Try it this way.

Isn't there a button on the drivers side window switch thing? I've not used it on my M5 yet but it's been on all previous M5's that I've owned and my X5. Attached a picture

This discussion is about the key fob remote.
