He was really upfront and even congratulated me saying, oh its your lucky day as this is our lowest start-up pricing ticket for over-speeding ==> son of a ____!

I am not sure what country you are driving your ///M5 in at? Because here in US, getting caught over 100mph (especially i guess in PA) = locked up in jail for 1 night minimum is the penalty to start with !

I start reeling him in and pulling at 130, 140mph and as we pass an overpass I am 2 cars ahead and I see parking lights of a cop car hiding under the overpass behind the wall. We both slow down and I see that the cop start moving and turns on his red and blue lights. I pull over on the shoulder and because I knew I was getting and Cayenne kept on going.
License and registration....he assumes I knew why i was being stopped and I told him that a Porsche started messing with us and pride took over and that we were moving and this was our final trip. I told the wife to act upset and she told the cop that she told me not to speed. He came back and said "well I clocked you at 140mph, your wife will be pissed at you for the next 4 hours of your trip, your suv is packed to the roof and I dont think you want to come back to court here. At least you beat a Porsche and you stopped to make things easier for me. I will give you a verbal warning and go after the Porsche. Be safe."

I loved that truck.
Had a 4.8is too Kamil. Great truck!!

Which is very sad you get jail time for something that is perfectly legal in another country !!

Stoning people to death is legal in certain countries too. Not sure I want to follow your logic on this one.

Apples to apples dude -
Well we all know that it is all about money from tickets as income more than anything else! !
Back to the days when this type of speed limit was reinforced because if gas like in the 60's if I am correct and since then no change and actually even worse!!
They ticket you for exhauste, for pulling hard !! For going 10 above arbitrary speed limit!
Am I against it? Probably not because otherwise people will be racing all day long and accidents will skyrocket!! But is this true when it come to accidents in countries less strict on speed limits!! Like Germany and Autobahn? Not sure, but doubt it!! It can be paradoxical relationship! ! Like accents could actually be same or even less!!

Accidents not always due to speed; lots of other contributing factors; however, fatalities increase with higher speeds. Limits are also imposed for supposed environmental reasons, traffic flow control, etc. Places where the driving standards are higher and the drivers obey standard safety rules are safer with higher speed limits (driving on the Autobahn, very aware drivers and obey lane rules etc).

(Heck, I sound like a VA state trooper!)

Truth. Cars are becoming more safe with technology and yet we still have outdated speed limits from Traffic and Engineering Survey's conducted decades ago. I find that it is actually very difficult for me to do the posted speed limit of 55mph on the Capital Beltway on the Virginia side because almost everyone is doing 65-70mph. I once tried really hard to stay at exactly 55mph and I almost got into 5 collisions in only 5 miles of driving.
Lol I noticed the same when I lived in DC Atlanta is even worse the posted speed limit on 285 (atlanta bypass) is 55 and no one except maybe travelers do less than 80 and the cops don't even bother.

Moved to Charleston SC about 6 months ago and about to pull my hair out in Atlanta everyone went 10-20 over here everyone goes 5 under no joke drives me crazy even on back roads if it's 35 then 30, 45 then 40 lol it nuts
Ha ! , I 'm in Charleston too and totally agree. , but there are some Great driving roads a little ways out of town towards Georgetown. I would be glad to show you sometime .

I know several people who have been ticketed at triple digit speeds and not arrested.

well a cop is gonna be more lenient about 115 in a 70 which would be a highway v.s. 70 in a 35 which will be a neighborhood.

if you believe you are caught by a mobile speed gun (speed gun on a biker rozzer), do you know if they take a picture with the recorded speed or just rely on a copper being further down the road to pull you over?
