It was pure torture. So much so I made multiple road trips and knocked out the 1200 in a little less than a week. Dealership thought I was insane when I brought it in for service!

Also, don't be afraid to makes few WOT runs. The car will be fine.

Keeping the RPMs below 5k. Not hammering the throttle during breakin. Apparently you didn't pay attention to those warnings

That's the one and only way I could ever get through the pain. Otherwise, it's agony and suffering whenever I try to get through a new car's breakin period.

Nothing will happen to the car if you make some WOT runs after the oil is warmed up. In fact, it is a good idea to do in the first few hundred miles to sit the engine cylinder rings. It will have an affect on how much (or little) oil the car consumes.

Prolonged driving at high rpms is what should be avoided for the first 1000 miles or so.

oooh, yeah that is kind of sucky. I took mine to a bowling tournament in Lawton, OK the second weekend I had it. That was 750 miles so I got my first 1200 in two weeks. I am only up to 2020 right now and it's been a month since the tournament. I am loving it....

We don't? Well, damn.

I pick mine up on Wednesday or Thursday. I'm heading home, grabbing the camping gear and making a trip out. I'm going to put the first 250 miles at least on over the first weekend. Combine with living 20 miles from work, and I should cover in time to get the break-in service done in about 3 weeks.

With you on this one. @ 850 miles on the odo right now. Sucks. I've been taking my car everywhere and feel your pain. I have 2 other cars and refuse to drive them right now, just so i can rack up the miles.
