Looks great! That will be my next bid decision.... with lease ending in 5,000 miles, it will be 2011 M3 vs. M5???

The E60 M5 hit 200mph with 80 less horsepower and much less torque. So I'm sure these "estimates" are pretty conservative.

which bmw official website says 3.9sec for X6M???
3.9sec X6M is road test version and 4.4sec F10 M5 is bmw's official ESTIMATE that you will see on bmw.com or bmwusa.com
i personally estimating that the new M5 would do under 3.7sec which u will find out later some time on R&T, C&D, MT

If they make it with an optional 6 speed short throw manual I will do things that my mother would not be proud of. Come on BMW make it happen baby.

Next M5 surely it's gonna be more agressive than the normal F10 painted in white with black roof and m logos :P ! But it's very nice

550 sounds about right more then that would be a stunning achievement

e39 M5 had nearly 120hp more than it's standard V8 variant.
e60 M5 had 175hp more if you consider the 545i.
what makes you think 175 on top of the twin turbo 550i's 400hp is unreasonable?

regarding top speed, well the V10 revved alot higher and that does make a big difference. i'll miss the V10 but the E60 was probably the ugliest car BMW ever produced. especially in M trim. and the torque from this new motor will be nuts.

It's nice that they are still going to base the M5 engine off the X6M and X5M, BUT since this will be the next iteration of the M5, BMW should redefine the M5 by not just slapping the same engine as the X6M and X5M. I would expect that they seperate the M5 from the X6M/X5M. Just like the current M5 and M6, there is hardly any difference but price and performance wise they are exactly the same. I would hope this version should be tweaked and HP upped to really justify it.

[QUOTE=southlight;6488671]As of yet, the F10 M5 will be shown as a concept car in Geneva next year with the official unveiling of the production cars being some months later. European launch is scheduled for Fall 2011, the US launch might be later.

I don't like betting against southlight, but in this case I sure hope you're wrong. I can't wait that long! Just put the first deposit down on one at the local dealer this week...

And please, give it a manual - I know, that ain't gonna happen.
