This stage between finishing production, getting to the boat, and the boat leaving for the US is the longest (worst) part.

called today (of course right?) they said it is on the way to port... that is up in the air for debate. I finally messaged my salesman and asked him. I need to NOT think about this, or log onto mybmw for like a week...

Yeah, you are probably sweating it a little too hard and driving them nuts.

I experienced a similar lack of updates/info from production being completed until it made it on a ship. Then tracking the ship myself helped, two weeks of not contacting my CA or Genius was nice..

In the meantime, my car is at the VPC!

Yes, I sign in two weeks and with these new numbers my payment goes down just a tad over $100/month. Now the wait doesn't seem that bad.

No need to lock in this month, with your latest application you can pick the month that offers you the best numbers at the time of signing.

Hey guys, first post in the M5 forum On the 25th of June, I ordered an M5 and they told me production would start in July with delivery in Toronto at the end of August. I'd be very interested in tracking my vehicle through the production cycle but not sure if we Canadians can do that plus I don't have my vin yet. Once I get a vin would I be able to track it?

Also see not that many of us are putting in orders before production stops...I feel lucky I was able to get in before it ends. Also hoping for a smooth build now after the Germans were kicked out of the Euro...

My car cleared customs and was processed and released by the VPC in about three days. Since then it had then been sitting at the VPC until yesterday. (Almost two weeks) Reason I was told is that since my car is a PCD and my delivery date was almost four weeks out, they just stored/held it there until sending it to the Performance Center about two weeks before delivery. Picked up yesterday by a trucking company and hopefully got to the PC today. I could have had it delivered sooner, but my schedule didn't allow me to move it up by more than a week.

that is so fucking retarded. and i know 100% that this is going to happen to me as well. Ship is suppose to arrive on the 22nd.. PCD isn't scheduled until the 18th of august. I'm hoping i can get it at least a week earlier.

I can't do this new car ordering thing again, that's for sure. Firs time, and it's the last.

What's so retarded about it? There really isn't a place for them to store cars at the PC and they have appointments lined up. Better they store it properly at the VPC until they can slot you in.

My car has been on Thalatta since the 11th and expected in Oxnard on 8/3. Expecting mid-August arrival to dealership (1-2 weeks from arrival to port). I don't mind the wait - instant gratification isn't that satisfying and the build up/anticipating is half the fun. Glad to be a having a one of a kind M5.
