Anyone notice the BMW flags in the backround? They have to become their cars if they are in SC.

I would go with alpine white, but dang that orange looks good! Nice to see a bunch of colors in the same light.

Well yes, but the photos do appear to be taken at the Performance Center

Are there options?

Whether it's the M carbon ceramic brakes or the default brake setup, does anyone know if your able to pick the color of the calipers? I think there should be options because some color [car/caliper] combinations don't look that great.

Hopefully you don't need a BMW individual to do this.

Thanks.

Are these the same carbon ceramic brakes on M6 Verts in showrooms across the country right now?

Look at those rear brakes, I mean, come on BMW your still the only ones using sliding calliper brakes on your M's. AMG are using fixed piston callipers on all their AMG's. Also, this is for an M5 with the ceramic option, which I'm guessing won't come cheap!
The way the car is now, it look like they slapped good brakes up front and then wanted to go play some golf and forgot about the rears. it looks like a half-A** brake job.
I know the sliding callipers won't make a big difference, they stop just as well on the streets, and I know those ceramics will still tear your face off under hard braking, and I know very few M5 owners will track this car, but still, some 4 piston callipers would have been nice to see on the rears!!!
Let's face it, the brakes on these types of cars should be like jewellery on a beautiful women!!!
Just look at the brakes on an SLS or a GT2 or even a Cayenne, that's how it should be donne BMW!!!!
+1

I also think BMWs cheap to use cast calipers for rear, like he said AMG, Porsche etc all use 4 piston rear....

It's the Porsche guys who change out the ceramic rotors for steal rotors because they wear out too fast and are crazy money to replace. They don't stop any better than steal; their main advantage is less unsprung weight.

Im not so sure about "wearing out too fast".....in reality ceramic rotors and pads should last much much longer than steal. As far as money is concerned, yes you are correct they are very expensive to replace. Another huge advantage is no brake dust.... I can not stress enough how amazing it is to not have your rims covered in brake dust constantly!!

More like theoretically they should last longer, but in reality, most of the people who had the ceramic rotors changed them out. Check on 6-speed or Rennlist.

I second this emotion.

Sliding calipers on a performance car are quite silly. BMW has always lagged behind in it's brake technology for some reason. Maybe because they put so much R&D into the suspension and chassis.

Either way, It would be nice to see 4 pots in the rear. Get rid of those ugly sliders.

I've never tried them, and I was far from that option when it came to ordering my Pcar. What is the difference?

1. Better performance
2. Less unsprung weight
3. No brake dust
4. No rusty rotors after washing

I agree on the rear slider brake caliper. Here is a close up of the rear brake...after looking closer....the rear slider is very substantial.... as much as a rear slider can be. But nonetheless a slider. 4 pot on the rear would make all the difference in the world. The other pic is a closeup of the front brake pad. The pad is massive. The front M Carbon Ceramic Brake package is world class....rear looks like modded Corolla.......sorry BMW "M" Truth....

Be careful about attending this event guys. I went last year, and I ended up replacing a 9 month old 550i MSport with a new M5.

Once you taste these cars, your nice new car wont be good enough.
