2014 M5 Mpg

Hi all,

Is the 2014 M5 getting better fuel econo ratings for 2014. I see that BMW hasn't rated it yet on their website which leads me to believe it may get better. Just curious if anyone has any insight. Just curious.

Thanks

People that have ordered the 2014 have had the gas guzzler tax on their invoice, so I don't think so.

Probably the same, no reason to think any different. Mileage should be a deciding factor when buying an M5, especially when choosing between MY 2013 and MY 2014, really

26 on the highway? Did you verify this with a manual calculation or were you going off the car's MPG display?

Same weight, same drag coefficient, same engine, same transmission, same tires, same gas guzzler tax. You do the math.

Mileage? Really?

Can't imagine anyone buying a $100,000+ car would have such concerns.

Same engine, same weight.....same mileage.

Would you really buy an M5, one of the greatest driving machines on the planet and keep it in Comfort modes to get the best mileage?

Why not just go for a Prius

Brim to Brim, IMO is the only way to be sure, but the display was almost spot on.

Best mileage I could get out of the M5 was 23mpg (U.S. gallons) and this was during my ED where I was able to use the car's momentum to squeeze every ounce of forward travel and also I strictly followed the set limits for the break-in period avoiding any unnecessary acceleration. Has anybody in this forum done better, please post?
