Carbon Fiber 3M Roof / Mirror Wrap

I got this done on Saturday, unfortunately the installer did an horrid job but you can't really tell with this picture (hopefully).

What are your thoughts? I already ripped it all off, but I'm thinking about giving it another try, hopefully with a competent installer this time around.

Can't tell anything by pics but I can tell you the mirrors looked better without the CF film.

Hi

I had a similar experience, the installer I used actually cut thru the clear coat! Compromising the roof from a weather perspective! I ended up claiming on his Insurance to get my roof repainted. I chose to paint it BMW Jet Black ;-). A great result all round..

If you look at this thread you will see the end result, very happy.

Good luck.

Wow, that's crazy. My installer made a dent on the roof.. Now I'm going to check if he cut through the clear coat as well..

Wow. All I can say is WOW, it's hard to see, but mine got cut as well, hopefully it's not too deep and I can fix it up without having to repaint.

Words cannot express how pissed off I am, not only did he take off with my money, he cut into my clear coat / moldings, dented my roof, did a shoddy job that left me w/ wrap that started peeling the very next day.

I went with 3M 1080 gloss black roof wrap. Very happy with it. Matches the shadow line trim perfectly.

WTF, Who did this for you?

That reminds me when this "expert" at Meineke wraped my side mirrors and rear difuser and tried charging me for a job that looked similar to this.

I wish I could say I didn't.. I didn't want to screw my friend, the installer was a connection through my friend - so I paid my friend. It was only after the guy took off that we realized it was THIS bad, we trusted the guy.

We did manage to get him fired from his "real life" job, which is funnily enough.. A place where they professionally install wraps.

That is a pretty bad install. What makes it worse is we all probably "baby" our cars and if your like me, hate when anyone else has to touch the car. What makes it worse is they end up damaging the car and do a pretty lousy install job. Gives me that crappy feel in the gut when I see that...
