S63 engine rebuild

Requesting feedback from any member that has first hand knowledge on

1.Pure Performance in Houston
2.RKautowerks in Dallas
3.Car Bahn in San Jose,CA

I had an engine failure requiring a rebuild. I've read dozens of reviews on each and am lost which direction to go.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Forget about #1, there's too many lawsuits against them.

RK and Carbahn are the way to go. If needed I'll be going with Carbahn due to them being close to me, but I wouldn't hesitate with RK from what other members are saying.

The people from RK and the motor have been awesome. Already put on 15k miles and it runs very strong. Motor uses absolutely no oil. Original motor needed a quart of oil every 750-900 miles.

1320racer, does anyone offer turbo option with standalone wg setup? I wish someone made single turbo conversion on this... think it'll sound epic with 8-1 collector

Carbahn +1.

I have never doubted Steve Dinans work (expect for Dinan Tronics).

I used Pure Performance in Houston and had ZERO complaints. He fixed my car in under a month and kept the price as agreed. Car has over 20k miles since rebuild and has been bulletproof. Just drove over 1800 miles in the past 10 days visiting 3 theme parks and it was awesome as always. Every shop has people who complain about them. TJ at Pure Performance was great to deal with.

I am curious what work did they perform? Did you experience an engine failure? Was your car modified/tuned? What was the price.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I too, would like to hear members' first-hand experiences with RK Autowerks. Granted, my circumstances may be a little different than most here - I am looking at getting an RK Autowerks stock rebuilt S63TU long block shipped to Australia.

The thread I started is here for anyone interested: https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2002137.

I have found most of the posts from members regarding to be mainly positive, but must admit that some of the more recent threads (such as this: https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1987565) has me spooked. Not trying to throw shade on RK or anyone, but doing my due diligence before dropping almost $20K.

Thanks all.

Since you are in Australia why not consider Evolve Automotive?

I was thinking that too, there must be an AUS engine factor that deals with these S63tu rebuilds.
