Phantom Shifting DCT 2-3

2013 M5 Tune/Downpipes/SSP Clutch kit

The car will on occasion do a very abrupt uncommanded shift from 2 to 3. This happens under heavy throttle and the car is actually getting decent or even full traction in second gear. It bangs hard into third more like a regular clutch car would - as if third gear has not been spun up to proper speed for a smooth DCT shift. I wondered at one point if the pull of second gear was possibly moving the center shifter enough to give the shift signal, but I'm thinking if it was getting the shift signal, it wouldn't have the rough bang I described because third gear would be spinning the proper speed.

Any thoughts/direction/experiences appreciated.

Jim

How recently was the clutch installed? Sounds like a low dct fluid situation.

Thank you. Start with the basics.

I will check this. Clutch has been in for 11k miles, but I did have more of the SSP fluid left over than I expected when clutch was installed.
