F10 M5 door handle inserts broke

So here is my dilemma.

Like most of us, I wanted to change the chrome inserts in my door handles to gloss black. I was going to get the IND handles but the body shop doing the rest of my installs said they could do it no problem. So I said go ahead and when I picked up the car evrything looked fantastic.

The problem.

I take the car to the car wash and wouldn't you know it 3 of the 4 inserts come off and are broken. To make matters worse two of them went into the sump and couldn't be recovered.

So now I'm left with 3 door handles with out inserts and it appears the only option I can find is buying a whole new set of handles which is unfortunate because they are over $300 a piece.

Does anyone have any idea or know if it's possible to get the inserts separate from the door handles? Any info would be much appreciated before I literally waste a pile of money on handles.

Chad

Supposedly the inserts are not an option from BMW.

I posted a link in my #2 post. Wonder if those would work. They say they are for the F10 inserts.

Thanks for the link! I checked earlier on eBay and must have missed them! For that price I'll buy them and see if they work.

And yes, to get oem inserts a whole door handle must be purchased. And I have the comfort access option so that means just over $300 a piece. Brutal.

Shoulda wrapped them. I'd buy the eBay ones and wrap them matte or carbon fiber

I wrapped mine. Took two minutes or less each one. I wish I did it a year ago.

take it to BMW and tell them you took it to a car wash and they fell out ...

I'd have to think your local stealership will cover you. Then, don't jack with them.

Let me know how eBay ones turn out. Ton of people have been asking for these with no luck.

I used "BMW 5 series F10" for my search.

Absolutely I will. Thanks again, I was using M5 in my search probably why I never saw it. They have been purchased so as soon as they are here I'll give them a go!

The body shop should pay for new ones. That is ridiculous.

It's so easy. I picked up a plastic blade. Cut the wrap to size, stuck it on and smoothed it out. Used the plastic blade to trace around the insert. There a crease you can use to follow so you won't scratch paint.
